Patent for Insertion Devices Greatly Improves the Robustness & Precision

Lansing, NY, July 5, 2011 – Advanced Design Consulting USA, Inc. has been awarded a US Patent # 7,956,557 for inventions incorporated in its Insertion Devices for Undulators. An insertion device is a part of a synchrotron which produces highlybrilliant, forward-directed and quasi-monochromatic radiation. These devices are inserted into a straight section of a high energy physics facility such as third generation synchrotron, FEL or ERL facility.


Patent # 7,956,557 “Support Structures for Insertion Devices” was assigned June 7th, 2011 to Advanced Design Consulting USA, Inc. A related US Patent, # 7,019,522 “Apparatus for Measuring the Magnetic Field Produced By an Insertion Device”, was issued on March 28, 2006.
